New Employee Orientation
All new employees are provided with a one-week orientation that covers a wide variety of topics that are applicable to their job. Some of these include an overview of the company, benefits, safety, standard operating procedures, and job-specific training. This program allows new employees a smooth transition and orientation into the company.

Training Within Industry
TWI consists of three training modules: Job Instruction, Job Methods, and Job Relations. Job Instruction trains a person to perform a task as quickly as they are capable of doing it and the result is that scrap, rework, equipment and tool damage, and injury to the worker are all minimized. Job Methods training is a simple technique which instructs employees how to improve whatever they do using the existing resources available. Job Relations Training involves solving personnel problems in an analytical way so that one focuses on a stated objective. Learn more at www.trainingwithinindustry.net

New Supervisor/Manager Training Program
To ensure success with our new managers, Viracon has created a diverse training program consisting of 11 modules designed to incorporate a learning experience with all of the departments within Viracon. This program allows new supervisors and managers a smooth transition and orientation into the company.

Six Sigma Training
Integrating Lean/Six Sigma into the culture at Viracon begins with Awareness Training. Viracon also trains a significant percentage of its workforce to become Green Belts and Black Belts. Dedication to training is fundamental to Viracon’s success with Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.

Viracon University
Viracon has partnered with local community colleges to offer its employees an opportunity to take college courses on campus or on site with a variety of classes and times available. This program is an example of one of many tuition reimbursement opportunities provided by Viracon.

Supervisory Management AAS Degree Program
Viracon has partnered with a local community college to offer its employees an opportunity to achieve this 2-year degree; this program is an example of one of many tuition reimbursement opportunities provided by Viracon. This innovative AAS degree program is customized for students who are not available for a full-time class schedule.

This is an accelerated program and is aimed at connecting course work to real-world workplace applications.

The program concentrates on building skills in leadership and organizational techniques, communications, employee motivation, managing human resources, team building, labor relations and other management theories and styles.

Apogee Leadership Fundamentals
Apogee provides a 4-day leadership conference to leaders of Apogee and all of the business units. The workshop is designed to help learn essential leadership skills and enhance current skills. It is packed with practical tools that leaders are able to immediately use in the workplace. It also gives people an opportunity to meet, learn from and work with other business unit leaders.
