OWATONNA, Minn. – Oct. 22, 2009 – Viracon (www.viracon.com), the country’s leading single-source architectural glass fabricator, has added a new senior executive. Dr. Charles Boyer has been hired as Vice President of Research, Process and Product Development.

In his new role, Dr. Boyer will oversee the research and development and the coating development departments. He’ll be working closely with these teams to both energize product development efforts and improve technologies utilized to support Viracon’s customer-facing activities.

Dr. Boyer brings a wealth of experience to his new position. With an extensive educational background in materials science, he has 24 years of experience managing technology and new product development for a number of companies, most notably 3M. He has lived and worked in Asia and obtained a number of U.S. Patents.
