Viracon's VRE coating was just the look the designers desired for this project. In addition, the glass and glazing system had to qualify for the hurricane building codes and meet specific requirements for flood-resistance for the lower floors. An atypical glass substrate (5/16" green) was chosen for the building necessitating special coordination with the vendor, and several very small glass units in specific areas of the curtainwall required customized solutions. Viracon shipped all glass to the client's Italy facility from the Port of Savannah. The glazed frames were then shipped to Miami for installation on the 37-story structure.
