Employee Testimonials

I was hired at Viracon in May 2019 as a Human Resource Coordinator. I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth at the beginning of May 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management and a minor in Psychology. I grew up in Owatonna and my love for the community brought me back. I was lucky to land a great job at Viracon and since being here I have been able to grow my HR skills and become creative in ways help better the HR team! If someone is looking for a place to grow in a job and as a person, Viracon is a great opportunity! – Rachel, HR Coordinator

I was hired at Viracon spring of 2012 as a production employee. I worked at Viracon every summer from 2012 until I completed my study at MSU. I’ve had the honor to work in different departments and with many different people. I came back in 2018 to work as an HR Representative in the office side of Viracon. I enjoy working at Viracon because I get to interact with different people each day, it is near home and the opportunities it provides me. – Ahmed, HR Representative

I began working at Viracon in July 2017 in Research & Development. My interest in Viracon was sparked at a career fair at the University of Minnesota, where I graduated with a degree in Materials Science & Engineering. Over the course of my employment, I have enjoyed the variety of projects I am assigned: There is something new to do each week! I enjoy that Viracon is large enough to necessitate working in cross-functional teams, but small enough to allow getting to know the people you are working with. It is also pretty cool to be able to say I work for the company that made the windows for the Vikings stadium! - Shelby, R&D Engineer

I was hired in 2013 as a vinyl cutter in Lami on nights.  I have been promoted several times from a Production Lead to my current position as a Lami Supervisor.  I have 44 direct reports that fill a crew of 2 production lines, a Packing and Staging team as well.  Besides learning about complicated products, I really enjoy the process of teaching and mentoring new employees as well as employees that demonstrate their desire to promote and fill in any current and future leadership positions.  Each day is something new, different, and challenging which is why I would recommend working at Viracon for the opportunities and the ability to have a satisfying career. - Todd, Production Supervisor

I was hired by Viracon in May 2006 after earning my Business Management degree from MNSU-Mankato.  During my 13+ years at Viracon, I’ve been able to hold positions in a variety of departments.  These cross functional roles have allowed me to gain a big picture appreciation for business operations and feed my appetite for learning.  Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to travel and interact with others in the construction industry.  These experiences allow me to see the major role Viracon plays in the commercial construction industry. – Nick, Senior Technical Claims Manager
